Reiki FAQs

What is Reiki?

Reiki (Universal Life Energy) is a spiritual healing technique with its roots in Japan.

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. It is believed that when a person’s energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.  A Reiki session can help remove energy blocks and ease tension and stress to help support the body to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally.

What does a distance healing session with Roxanne look like?

It is preferred but not necessary that you find an undisturbed space for up to 30 min so you can relax.  I will begin treatment at the specified time and will notify you once the session is complete.

Will I feel anything?

Every person’s experience is different.  You may or may not feel certain sensations.  The words my client’s have used to explain sensations they have felt are light pressure, heaviness, heat, waves of energy, seeing colours.  It is also normal to feel nothing at all.  Every client has left the session feeling very relaxed and content.  The session is completely unique to you and may feel and look different each time.

Can I talk or move during the session?

I encourage you to do what makes you feel comfortable.  You can even choose to carry on with your regular daily activities. Most people choose to rest and and some even fall asleep during their session.  If you feel you need to adjust your body, clear your throat, scratch an itch, cry, do it! This experience is unique to you and your comfort is my top priority.

Is Reiki safe during pregnancy?

Yes, Reiki is a safe practice and it can help support the physical and emotional changes pregnant women experience through every stage of pregnancy.  It is best the mother lay on her left side with a pillow between her knees or sit in a chair, whichever is more comfortable.

What about my privacy?

When you book sessions with me, your privacy is important.  No information about any client will be discussed or shared with any third party without written consent of the client or parent/guardian if the client is under 18.
